Idaho is a major trucking hub of the Pacific Northwest, and the Idaho Trucking Association exists to provide members with valuable services and promote the interest of Idaho trucking industry employees before state and federal legislators. Since 1937, the Idaho Trucking Association has provided a voice to the many drivers and support personnel who keep the Idaho trucking industry running.
Mission of the Idaho Trucking Association
Over the years, trucking industry workers in Idaho and throughout the rest of the United States have faced illogical and restrictive regulations, inordinate tax burdens, and countless other frustrations due to government interference in the trucking industry at both the state and federal levels. The Idaho Trucking Association is one of the many state-level organizations throughout the country that provide a voice to the trucking industries’ thousands of employees.
In addition to promoting the interests of the Idaho trucking industry, the Idaho Trucking Association strives to improve roadway safety for truck drivers and individual private drivers alike. They accomplish this through extensive training and road safety programs and investment into roadway maintenance and safety initiatives. The Idaho Trucking Association also encourages and supports a consistent and fair business climate among Idaho trucking companies.
The Idaho Trucking Industry
About one in every 16 working Idaho residents works in the trucking industry in some capacity, and the trucking industry provides more than 37,000 jobs to the state of Idaho with an industry average annual salary of more than $43,000. More than 72% of Idaho communities rely on trucking exclusively for the goods they purchase and use every day, as well as for transporting cargo from local businesses to customers all over the state and beyond. The Idaho trucking industry transports more than 57,000 tons of cargo every day.
The Idaho trucking industry, with the support of the Idaho Trucking Association, remains committed to supporting the economy of Idaho and the rest of the country with safe and efficient trucking services, a commitment to safely sharing the road with other drivers, and advancing the interests of the American trucking industry.
